TGIF!! This week was extra busy and I am so ready for it to be Friday night already!! :) Here are my Friday five and favorites!

I've been on the hunt for a good long while for the perfect thing to put on an empty wall that we have in the dining room. I thought that a chalkboard piece might fit the bill and I was lucky enough to find one that was the perfect size at Target (of course, right?). I don't even remember what color it was before Joe painted it white, but he hung it up this week and I am totally smitten!

My sister n law planned a surprise celebratory dinner for my brother being cancer free, at his favorite Japanese place, Wakuriya, and asked for my help with decorating in an all white theme....a color scheme that was right up my alley. If you ask anyone I know, my favorite color for home decor is white - if it comes in white, then its perfect, I'll take it ha! Anyway, it was sort of a last minute thing because we weren't sure if the restaurant would even allow us to add any decor in the room, but the owner ended up being super sweet and accommodating. I scrambled the day before to find 200 white roses, vases, and balloons. A trip to the flower mart, Michael's, and a phone call to a "balloon lady" and the dinner turned out perfect. It sounds like it was easy, but I was actually pretty stressed out and had only a handful of panic attacks (not to mention I also got poked about a million times from the thorns on the roses - so not fun) It was all totally worth it though! I feel like whatever I go through will never compare to what he's gone through, so I was happy to do what I could to help make his dinner extra special.

And what did I do with the leftover roses you ask - well, I only took a few and put them in my almost never clean kitchen :P We just had the house cleaned last weekend so I'm hoping I can keep it up so that we won't have to have the cleaners come back for at least 2 months. The kitchen is the most difficult to keep tidy hecause its always being used, but I'm going to try!

Every morning when Ben wakes up, he yells for me and I go into his room and lay with him for a few minutes so that he can slowly wake up. This is one of the "only mommy and Ben" times during the day and it is something that is so special to me. Lately, I've been noticing that he has just grown so long. Its like he had a major growth spurt since Cammi was born and I'm left wondering where my little baby went :( He's growing up and meanwhile..his sissy is wearing things that he used to wear as a little baby. Its so sweet that I can put her in some of his clothes, but it also breaks my heart at the same time because it means they're both growing older :( Can you tell ... postpartum emotions still going strong over here!

I posted this photo on instagram this week and I realized that this is probably one of 2 or 3 photos that I have with both of the kiddos. I can't believe that I don't have more with them! So I'm seriously making a point to take more pics with the kids in the next months while Cammi is still a baby!

Wishing you a happy weekend!! I'm linking up with the gals of Momfessionals, A Little Bit of Everything, and Grace and Love for friday favorites

Happy Tuesday friends!

That weekend certainly flew by! We've been having some crazy gorgeous weather here lately and wanted to get out and enjoy it as much as we can until the next rain comes so we took the kiddos to the park on Saturday. We picked up lunch from Town (been totally stuck on the garlic bread, ceasar salad, and french dip from this place!) and spent a good couple of hours letting Ben run around. He was such a happy camper :) Afterwards, we went home so the kids could nap and spent the rest of the evening at home. Sunday we ran some errands around lunchtime and attempted to watch my nephews football game .. I say attempted to because we showed up late thinking it was going to be a long game, but it turns out that we showed up just as everyone was leaving. #totalfail ... Next time, we'll be sure to be there waaay earlier! The rest of the day was spent playing in our backyard, and Joe and Ben doing yard work outside while I stayed in with the baby.

Exciting events going around here on our Saturdays and Sundays, I know, lol. I promise that all of my posts won't be about my weekend because I don't want to bore you with a summary of my target and grocery runs. ha.

Here are some snaps from this weekend...

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Our Valentine's Day Weekend

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a really nice long weekend :)

Last Friday, Ben wanted to go to the mall to get some pretzels and ice cream and I wanted to get out of the house so I took the kiddos out by myself (for only the second time since Cammi's been with us) :) it went pretty smoothly in the beginning. Ben got his requested treats and we even picked up a gift for daddy for Valentine's Day. Towards the hour and half mark, he was getting kinda crazy and started to run and hide from me, so I decided it was time to get home for a nap. It was a successful trip out by myself and I feel like I really should be able to do it more often! More power to those mamas who do this on a regular basis ... it's not easy!!

On Saturday, we spent the day at home and just hung out (boring, I know but it was nice and very much needed!!). On Sunday, we did our Valentine's gift exchange with the kiddies and mommy and daddy. Ben got a remote control monster truck, a Paw Patrol toothbrush and thermos, and a hot wheel, and of course something chocolate because he likes chocolate like his mama. Cammi got sippy cups, utensils, teething toys, a food masher, and the cutest swimsuit :) We had lunch together just with us and then had dinner with Joe's family.

Monday was spent running our grocery errands and preparing for the week ... and now it's Tuesday! :) see you back here soon!! :)

Weekend (late!)

Happy hump day!! Too many things going on this past weekend with a brother in law's birthday, the Super Bowl, and Lunar New Year! I'm still trying to recover and it's already the middle of the week!

My goal for this week (I'm setting my bar low here..lol)... I'm going to try to get my sh*t together so I can have some Valentine's Day baskets ready for my little love bugs. Yesss, Vday baskets are totally a thing now because who doesn't like to spoil their kiddos at every holiday?? :)

Anyway..I just wanted to stop in and say hello :) I wish I had taken more pictures this weekend to share but I decided to "live in the moment" ... That and I forget sometimes that I'm blogging again, ha! So I'll leave you with one of baby girl... Because I can never get tired of looking at photos of her (or Ben!!).

Hi Friday!

Oh Friday, so glad you're here!! This week passed by so quickly but it was also jam packed so I'm glad to have a couple of days to kinda relax (there's no relaxing really when you've got kiddos right?). Here are my friday five and favs!

I am a sucker for pretty things. Especially pretty home things! No matter that I didn't need these boxes that I found at Home Goods because I scooped them right up and am using them to store things that need storing. ha
My favorite hand blender that I used to make baby food for Ben when he was a tiny tot has broken and I'm now forced to use our Vitamix to make Cammi's purees. The thing I'm not crazy about with the Vitamix is that I can't make a small batch of food. We also have a beaba that I need to learn to use, but I just hate reading directions, so I've been sticking with the Vitamix. I guess I can't really complain when I have a solution, right? This week, Cammi has had white carrots (pictured), peas (her favorite), and pears.
Cammi is going to be 8 months old in just a few short days and that has me thinking about her 1st birthday party. I can't wrap my head around the idea of planning for it mainly because I really can't believe that she is going to be ONE :( How did these last 8 months go so quickly? Seriously time..stop it!

I'm looking forward to having some family over for the big game this Sunday. Not sure what we'll be cooking but I can't wait to stuff my face (because I know I won't be watching the game lol) Anyone else with me? :)

Ben had not one, but TWO dentist visits this week. Poor guy had to get a cleaning and a crown put in. It seriously broke my heart to hear him crying in the dentist's chair. He did great for the first cleaning appointment, so I thought he was going to to do good for the crown appointment...but after an hour of sitting, he finally lost it and cried for the last 30 minutes. I'm glad we got the longest appointment (and largest cavity!) out of the way. Now we just have 2 more appointments and we're done. I feel like a horrible parent for not enforcing teethbrushing in the past. But we've learned our lesson and are now on a very strict regimen with his oral hygiene!!

Happy weekend!! I'm linking up with the gals of Momfessionals, A Little Bit of Everything, and Grace and Love for friday favorites

And a. liz adventures, hello happiness and Carolina Charm for five on friday :)

Happy Monday :) Hope you had a lovely weekend. Ours was go go go as usual!

Ben has been obsessed with pancakes lately and requested them for dinner Thursday night. I happily obliged and made them as his "appetizer" (#dessertfirst!) and saved some of the batter so that I could use it for Friday morning's breakfast.

My sister n law texted me the other day to ask if we could use some lemons because she can't use the ones from her tree fast enough! I of course said YES because we use lots of lemon in our house for our daily hot lemon water and for cooking....and they also look so pretty just sitting in a bowl!

We spent the rest of the weekend with the usual..breakfast and lunch outings, visits to the grocery store and Target, and spending lots time with family (and friends)! Oh and Mr. Ben and I even squeezed in some rice krispie treat making (one of his favorites!!)!

Hope your week is off to a happy start!
